Learning Presents For Infants and Toddlers
Children are always learning. They learn through their play.
It can be something simple as they are learning social roles through playing Barbies or they are learning motor skills through shape sorting.
If you buy them something fun, they will learn!
Finding That Right Present
When looking for a present for a child, it can be difficult to decide. There are so many options out there.
Whether it's a Christmas present or a birthday present that you are looking for, a learning present is always a safe bet.
Then there's the question of what do you want them to learn from your present?
Peter Reynolds Books
I love Peter Reynolds books. I first heard them while in one of my classes for ECE.
They each have a powerful message that is beautifully illustrated.
Walkers For Those Learning To Walk
Is the little one you are buying for just learning to walk? If so, maybe one of these great support toys would be a good Christmas or Birthday present.
Sorting Toys
Sorting Toys are great. They help along a child's cognitive development or their brain power.
Everyone remembers that toy that was shaped like a circle that you fit shapes into. It resulted in frusteration when you had to pull it apart to get the shapes out.
These are a bit more user friendly.
Puzzles
Puzzles are a great activity for learning. It teaches recognition, patience, memory and more.
I have already mentioned how much I appreciate Melissa & Doug so it's no surprise the puzzles I chose are all theirs.
Paint!!
Paint is a great sensory activity. It encourages creativity and learning about colours.
I highly encourage children to paint however they want to which may include with their hands (which is why washable is best!).
Baby Einstein Videos
Baby Einstein Videos area a great tool for the parent who lets their child watch television but wants something more than Bubble Guppies and Dora. (Nothing against them, I love Swiper!)
Infants and toddlers love the shapes and colours as well as the music.
